Renaissance Men, New England's professional male vocal chamber ensemble, announces regular and substitute roster auditions for our exciting 2017-18 season! Tenors, baritones, and basses with strong solo and ensemble singing skills are encouraged to apply. We are particularly looking for high tenors and low basses, though other voice types will be heard for the sub list.
Founded in January 2014, RenMen continue to explore the wealth of largely neglected men's ensemble music through the centuries and across genres. Our repertoire includes Renaissance polyphony, newly commissioned works, beloved English part songs, Estonian folk tunes, German männerchor, traditional American hymn tunes, barbershop quartet numbers, bluegrass and pop standards, both with live band, and much more.
Highlights of our 2016-17 season included performances at the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum, the Connecticut Early Music Festival, and numerous colleges. In addition, we recorded our first commercial album, RenMen Laments, to be released in early 2018. The 2017-18 season includes numerous private gigs, record release concerts, a Holiday Gala, and a concert series of men's ensemble works by famous operatic composers.
If interested in auditioning, please email the following materials to Eric Christopher Perry, Artistic Director (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Anthony Garza, General Manager (email@example.com):

2. In the body of your email, please describe your voice's qualities (range, tessitura, fach, color, etc) and its best fit in standard T1 T2 B1 B2 part assignments. Please also describe your experience in ensemble singing and interest in men's ensemble repertoire in particular.
4. 1-2 recordings that demonstrate vocal technique, quality, and musicianship. Can be arias (operatic or oratorio) or songs. Live or studio quality is acceptable, accompanied or acapella.

If you are not available on these dates, we still encourage submission of materials. Individual auditions may be scheduled on other dates as needed at the discretion of the Artistic Director.
